Our in-depth behind-the-scenes tour takes you on a journey through time, from the establishment of the Buffalo Distilling Company in 1883 to the present day. Learn about our rich history and how we’ve preserved the time-honored craft of whiskey and spirit making in Buffalo. Our commitment to quality and tradition shines through in every drop.
What to Expect
During this 90-minute experience, you’ll explore three key areas with our Whiskey Expert and Connoisseur, Mike Foti. Mike is a Certified Executive Bourbon Steward, United Kingdom Whisky Ambassador & Certified Spirits Judge, who will share insights into the art of crafting fine spirits.
The Tasting Room: Immerse yourself in the history of whiskey in Buffalo in the ambiance of our Tasting Room, the original Duchmann & Sons Carriage Factory built in 1890. Here, you’ll sample the first selection of our award-winning products, which may be our Bottled in Bond Bourbon Whiskey.
The Still House will be your next stop, the heart of our distillery, where you may taste Buffalo’s onlyEmpire Rye Whiskey. Feel the heat, smell the fermenting grains, and discuss the process of distillation and our custom stills.
The Rickhouse will be your final stop. Step into our aging warehouse, where barrels of whiskey rest and mature. The air is thick with the alluring aroma of aging bourbon and other spirits. Discover how time and oak transform raw spirits into liquid gold. There will also be a surprise tasting here as well.
Finally after the event, Relax, unwind, and continue the conversation as you may try the diverse flavors the Buffalo Distilling Company has to offer on your own.
